Redboy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is located at 200 Wilson Street Port Jefferson, NY 11776 and is one of Long Island's premier self defense training facilities. At over 4,000 sq. ft. of training space, Redboy BJJ offers a variety of different training methods such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling, MMA, and Capoeira.
We specialize in teaching young kids, but the school welcomes all levels of age and fitness. In an environment of respect and discipline among the students and instructors, Redboy aims to be recognized as a leader in advanced training.
BJJ and MMA, has become a widely spread avenue of physical conditioning for young adults and is taking Long Island by storm. Being that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the 'mainstay of modern day MMA, Redboy BJJ stands to be at the forefront of optimal training, as well as offering many other avenues of fitness and training for the upcoming MMA athlete.
The term 'MMA' meaning mixed martial arts, literally means a person who is trained in two main ways of self defense; Striking (Muay Thai, Capoeira, Kenpo, Kungfu) and ground fighting (Brailian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, and traditional grappling).
For thousands of years, martial arts has been always evolving into more efficient ways to subdue an opponent. Not ever has a martial art remained traditional for too long that its usefulness no longer can keep up with the new methods that are being developed. We are seeing this now, more than ever in today's events such as UFC, Long Island Pride, WEC, and many more.
Our ultimate goal, is to implement the ever evolving new methods, so our instruction never fails to re-invent itself and be recognized as optimal training.
